The Freedom of Wireless
Wireless Internet Access is spreading around the world and we're cutting wires all over Northern NH. For the past few years, I've worked on the development of downtown Wi-Fi Hotzones.
In 2004, I started a company, Wicked Wi-Fi, to be a resource for towns and businesses interested in offering Wireless Internet access. It was a wild five years in the world of wireless. I've been following municipalities all over the world who ventured into downtown wireless Internet access and personally have experienced all the models: private, public, public/private mix. It's messy, but imperative we all work together to bring more solutions for spreading broadband throughout rural America.
Wireless Internet Projects
In 2005, led a private/public partnerhsip project to develop and manage a downtown Wi-Fi hotspot in Littleton, NH.
In 2008, assisted the town of Pittsfield, NH with the installation of a downtown Wi-fi hotzone.
In 2008 - present, assist with the planning, operations and marketing for theWireless LINC of NH/VT project, developing an open access wireless broadband network throughout Northern NH and Northeast Vermont.
Mobile Computing is here, but it's expensive to access. In rural areas it is important to plan accordingly. If your town or region is interested in lerning more about public Internet access models, contact me to discuss the latest trends and opportunities.
